My name is Tim McMahon and I’ve been there! I suffered from Geographic Tongue and through a strange set of circumstances I learned how to get rid of it. You see, shortly after college I fought the battle of my life (literally). Somehow, I developed Crohn’s disease and went from a healthy 135 lbs down to 95 lbs and literally thought I was going to die (and I looked like it too.) In the process, I had a huge chunk of my intestines removed. From that I developed Geographic Tongue and eventually that led to my discovering the solution. OMG! WHEN I WAS 13 I NOTICED THAT I HAVE A WEIRD TONGUE I WAS PLAYING WITH FRIENDS AT SCHOOL AND SOMEBODY NOTICED MY TONGUE AND HE SAID ,WHAT DO HAVE IN UR TONGUE IS NASTY, AND I FELT SO BAD I DID NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL,I CRIED EVERY DAY AND I BECAME A SAD LONELY DEPRESS PERSON UNTIL NOW! NOW I HAVE 30 YRS OLD I HAVE 3 KIDS THAKX GOD NONE OF THEM HAVE THIS!I ALWAYS TRY TO HIDE MY TONGUE EVEN FROM MY HUSBAND I DONT HAVE TO MANY FRIENDS I DON HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE I TALK TO MY FRIENDS BY THE PHONE,I WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL GET A GOOD JOB BUT I FEEL SO INSECURE ABOUT MY SELF,MY SELF ESTEEM IS TOTALLY IN THE FLOOR,I FEEL SO ALONE IN THE WORLD,AND NOW I FEEL MUCH BETTER THAT IAM NOT THE ONLY PERSON IN THIS WORLD WITH A GEOGRPHIC TONGUE,AND LIKE U I CANT EVEN EAT CERTAIN FOOD LIKE PINEAPPLES,AND CITRUS FOODS, IS REALLY ANNOYING AND PAINFUL,I ALWAYS HAVE MINT GUM THAT HELP ME A LITTLE BIT,TO HIDE IT,I PRAY GOD TO DO MIRACLE BUT FOR NOW I JUST HAVE TO LEARN TO LIVE WITH IT!!YOU TAKE CARE AND UR NOT ALONE!! You don’t need to learn to live with it. You need to learn what causes it and eliminate the cause. In many cases the cause is nutritonal, in other cases it is a chemical irritant or an allergic reaction. In my book you will find many causes and many solutions. The key is just to find the one that fits your situation.
